I previously linked to the Lancet paper arguing that USAID cuts will cause 14M deaths in the next five years. Rachel Glennerster argues the paper isn’t very methodologically strong, and I agree. I also agree with Rachel that USAID cuts will lead to a significant number of deaths, likely >5M in the next five years.

I too was disappointed in this paper, and surprised that so few people said anything when it came out
